Homeschool Blessings

Today was beautiful outside. The sky was clear and sunny with a temperature around 66 degrees. The kids and I needed to go to the church to hand in some medical forms for a Junior high camp out next week. The assistant asked my daughter what school she went to and she answered homeschool. Well just our luck she said that kids from the church that home school, have a lunch once a month and it was today at noon! What a blessing for my eldest. She is a little friend starved at the moment since we just moved to this area in November. The assistant also informed me that several of the core families at the church, homeschool.

Our next stop was the library, after picking out a horde of books we discovered the library was backed up to a nice duck pond and trail. We made a few new friends! The ducks were probably so use to people bringing them bread that these three made their way over to us and were not shy.

We even had the privilege of being read to by the most famous Mark Twain. Some of us walked the circle path around the pond and some of us sat in the sun with the ducks and a face buried in  a book.

With time left until we dropped the oldest back off at the church we made an impromptu stop at a local fast food spot. We had the place to ourselves so it was nice and quiet which is definitely a first!

After the drop the rest of us went home. Mama put the roast in the slow cooker and started some cinnamon sugar bread in the bread machine.

We are all back at the house now with several books to read while snuggling in Mama's bed and others on couches. Coffee and chamomile tea added to our warm bellies.

Not a lick of official school work done!

God blessed me today in many ways. The beautiful weather, a church community, books for the soul, feathered friends, and yummy food to feed my family all cooking while I blog. The best gift he gave me today was the reminder of this is why I homeschool. The closeness that it brings between my children and me, and the opportunity it gives me to point them to Him.

I hope your day was blessed as well and if it didn't feel that way don't worry he has a special day planned for you! He is always thinking of us, He is always holding us, He is always working out His good and perfect plan for us.
